Items #3 Pal West

After an uncertain future for 27 year old design magazine Items, they are out of the woods and are back on track. Items #3 features a large piece on Pal West, a project that I (Tobias) have been working on for quite a while now. It's very nice that Items devoted a full six pages on Pal West. Pal West Textile designer Kirsten Voortman and myself even got to say a few words. This is just a little preview. Get a copy!

OsDo- Jongeren Budgetmarkt

OsDo is a fair for youth living in Osdorp-Amsterdam, organised by the city counsil (stadsdeel osdorp) and SEZO maatschappelijke dienstverlening. The goal of the fair is to inform teenagers about everything to do with finance, jobs, loans and more. Textile designer Kirsten Voortman and Tobias Krasenberg were asked by PAL WEST to represent them at the fair. Kirsten and Tobias decided to give visitors the opportunity to produce pins and print cotton bags with something that represents who they are and what they are all about. If you're 15 and you go to a job interview, you don't want to go in a suit and tie. A personalised bag or pin (button) can be an interesting way to convey a message.

Pal West kids Gaia (16) and Josefine (17) managed the stand at the fair. Gaia also designed the flyers and posters for the OsDo Event, together with Tobias.

We Were Here, Collection Lookbook

The results of Pal West Modeatelier 2008 are finally nicely documented in the form of an A1 poster folded to a A5 booklet. Art Direction and Design by Tobias Krasenberg and Maartje van Nimwegen, Photography by Mark Groeneveld.

WE(st) MAKE(s) MEDIA

For the WE(st) MAKE(s) MEDIA project of Koers Nieuw West that took place during the IDFA, Tobias was asked to design posters and flyers together with 2 Pal West Modeatelier participants (Kiki & Zindzi, age 16). In this co-creation process we decided to built a piece of Amsterdam West with all types of objects linked to media. We also made a leader for the filmfestival, did the decorations of the venue and did a little bit of food-design.
